Bridging the Gap – Delta Gymnastics Advanced Programming

Delta Gymnastics offers a comprehensive set of programs and classes for recreational participants who would like to pursue an advanced level of gymnastics, train additional hours to achieve more difficult skills, and attend various gymnastics events as a team.  The advanced program places additional emphasis on building a strong base of fundamental gymnastics skills, core strength and overall fitness ability. Participants engage in conditioning/strengthening activities in addition to consistent repetition of a fundamental set of skills necessary to technically proficient gymnastics.  Participants also learn routines to perform on all of the four events.

To enter the program participants must complete Level 3 in the Recreational Program.  Entries must also demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to the coaches and other members of the program as a team member.

The Gymnaestrada program at Delta Gymnastics involves a two hour class which will be held twice per week.  Each week the girls will do three hours of gymnastics training and one hour of dance.  Throughout the year the team will perform their group dance at many different venues, finishing with BC Provincial Gymnaestrada, a fun-filled daylong event.  The girls will also have the opportunity to compete at various Interclub meets over the course of the year to display their routines on each individual gymnastics event.  This is a year-long program.
