Our motto: “Kid's are First” is indicative of our philosophy to helping each child develop to their personal best. Our competitive program is dedicated to developing excellence in an atmosphere where the safety, health and wellness of each child is a priority.
Our competitive team comprises both boys and girls aged 6 to 23 years. Both the boys and girls program range from the beginner level to National and High Performance. We are very proud of our gymnasts who train all year and proudly represent Delta Gymnastics locally, regionally. Provincially and internationally. Internationally our gymnasts have travelled to: Japan 2003, 2004-2005, Mexico 2006, China 2007, Hawaii 2008 & 2009, Idaho and California 2009 – who knows where we'll go next!

Girls Competitive Program
In our girls competitive program, gymnasts train between 6 and 22 hours per week and range in age from 6 to 16 years. As an introduction to the competitive stream, our youngest pre-competitive girls participate in K.I.P.1 (Kids in Progress) program. From K.I.P 1, they move forward to Provincial and National Stream competitive levels.
Delta Gymnastics offers programs for girls of all ages in Provincial Level 1-5, National Pre-Novice, Novice and Open categories. Each athlete's goals, work ethic, commitment and skill level are taken into account in choosing their level and training schedule for the season.
Competitive gymnastics is a year round commitment. Athletes are encouraged and guided bya team of coaches to reach their goals and to acheive success in their level. Admittance into the program is generally for a summer or September start and is based on assessments done by the competitive coaches.
Gymnastics B.C., in conjunction with the Men's Technical Committee, recognizes three ability categories of competition for boys – Provincial, National and High Performance. Delta Gymnastics trains boys in al lthese categories. All new boys to the Delta men's program are first grouped into in-house non-competitive Superman and beginner Provincial groups depending on age. When an athlete is ready to move into competitive gymnastics, his ability and commitment level are taken into account when choosing a training group for the upcoming season. All competition options are dependent on a gymnast's age along with the gymnast's invididual abilities.
Provincial level gymnastics is set up and governed by Gymnastics BC and allows for athletes new to the sport or those training less hours, an arena to compete. National and High Performance is set up and governed by Gymnastics Canada and allows for interprovincial competition. Both National and HP levels require more dedication and skill ability than Provincial gymnastics.
For those with National Team goals, High Performance is set up to guide and monitor boys on a yearly basis, i.e. Each year requires different routines or requirements. High Performance is geared to dvelop boys for international competitiion.
